Our Programs
We define programs as activities involving groups of people, while services usually focus on one individual or family at a time.
Senior Walks
Guilford Cares sponsors a nature walk each month in warm weather. We will have a schedule on this website. Sometimes, the nature walk may have more to do with history or architecture than nature, but it is still walking and interesting. We have had some wonderful walk leaders who bring a wealth of information, and the walkers make new friends while they exercise and learn. This activity can become habit-forming!
Weekly Tai Chi Classes
This program sounds very exotic, but Guilford Cares introduced it to the community because it is rated highly effective at helping senior citizens avoid accidental falls. This practice originated from martial arts training because fighting requires good balance. We promise to help your balance and not turn you into a combatant. Tai Chi at Guilford Cares is low-stress, fun, and very friendly. It takes place on Thursdays. Feel free to telephone or message us to ensure you get the session time that best suits your needs. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and shoes. Bringing a water bottle can prove a good idea.
